FINAL DRAFT
Learning Beyond the Classroom
I can help you elevate your writing to the next level by turning pedestrian prose into lofty language. In addition to writing, I teach related skills: English, grammar, proofreading/editing, and vocabulary. I tutor high school, college and graduate students, and adults who wish to improve their facility with language.
"This writing tutor did an outstanding job providing exceptional lessons, and really helped my son excel in school. Final Draft managed to work wonders when we thought we’d run out of options.”
Payton Hillman
“Before I found Final Draft, I didn’t understand a thing in class. I felt so lost, and trying to learn on my own was overwhelming. Now I feel more confident in my abilities.”

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
In addition to writing, I teach related skills: English, grammar, proofreading/editing, and vocabulary. I can help you elevate your writing to the next level, and beyond. I tutor high school, college and graduate students, and adults who wish to improve their facility with language. There is nothing more gratifying than sharing knowledge with people who are eager to improve themselves personally and professionally.
Writing
"Listen" to Your Language Soar
Words are like musical notes: they make sounds on paper (and computer screens). I will teach you to read your work aloud. Do you hear a symphony or a cacophony? I will help you make your essays "sing," and elevate your writer's voice to one of distinction.
Vocabulary
Develop an Authoritative Voice
Choose your words with precision, avoid redundancy, shun sesquipedalian words when garden varieties will do quite nicely, and be wary of over-the-top punctuation. A fine writer can go a lifetime and never use an exclamation point. Let your words convey excitement, not your punctuation.
Editing
Rewrite Until Your Work "Sings"
As a tutor, I teach students to proofread and rewrite their copy until they own every word and punctuation mark. How many times? You'll know. Ernest Hemingway rewrote the ending of "A Farewell to Arms" 38 times. Rewrite your work until it moves from thought to thought without stumbling.
